The Coast Guards of Indian and Sri Lanka on Tuesday held a high level meeting and discussed all maritime issues between the two nations. The Indian side was led by Coast Guard Director General K Natarajan and the Sri Lankan team was led by Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunge.
In the discussion, both the countries decided to strengthen the cooperation in all marine aspects, especially security and safety concerns. The meeting was held as part of a Memorandum of Understanding between Indian and Lanka in establishing a cordial relationship in all marine issues.
India also agreed to train the Lankan Coast guard and also mutual cooperation in all regions of marine life.
