More radar, Control centres to be set up along the coast line

As part of strengthening the coastal security, the Bharat Electronics Limited that has tied up with the Ministry of Defence, would be helping in strengthening security along the coast lines. The Bharat Electronics Limited would be providing more radar stations and control/command centres along the coast.

Reports said that five command/control centres and 38 radar stations along the coast line would be set up by Bharat Electronics Limited for the Indian Coast Guard. The Bharat Electronics Limited has already set up 46 radar stations and sixteen command/ control centres along the coast for tracking of ships and fishing boats. The surveillance system that is being installed in the second phase would also be covering Lakshwadeep and the Andamans.

The Bharat Electronics Limited has already signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defence for strengthening the security and surveillance of the coastal lines. The Bharat Electronics Limited officials have said that the software for coastal security and surveillance would be customised to meet the requirements of the Coast Guard and maritime security.
